I was so nervous for this run because I had to go by myself, and it is the most I've run at one time. I wanted to run the whole time and when I WANTED to walk, I had to reduce my pace instead. I also did not want to stop my watch at all. I met these goals and felt good after the run. It was really windy up on the Geneva trail. My headphones were being blown out of my ears and my one leg was being blown into my other leg by a really strong side wind. I got to see a deer today! It was awesome, but it startled me as I came around a corner!

Lake to Lake Relay Leg 2
WOW! We live in a world with so much beauty! This run was slower than my last leg, but I was okay with that because it was up big hills. I just wanted to run the whole time and I did! So much fun being in the sun! Bring on spring!
All done! Now off to Texas Roadhouse for some yummy food!
Lake to Lake Relay Leg 1
Draper Trails and Neighborhood with friends
This was Saturday. We were so busy yesterday, I didn't get a chance to post. Went with friends and had a great time! I was worried about the wind all night. I woke up, looked outside and thought we might beat the rain. Then as we met up it started raining with strong winds. At first I thought it was going to be a tough 12 miles, but it wasn't bad at all!
Sweethearts 5K
3.1 mi 00:24 07:37 pace I had such a great time at the Sweethearts 5K with family and friends! Tom ran it too and did it in just over 10 minute miles which is really great since he hasn't been running and has had a hurt back. I was waiting for the official results to post this run because I forgot to turn off my watch again. They did post some results and it said my time was longer than what my watch said even with the additional time before I remembered to turn it off. Then they took those results down and said they were wrong. So, I will just wait to see if they DO get them posted. 2/15/11: The results were posted yesterday so here is my standing: They used gun times rather than the time from the timing chips. My watch said shorter than their time, even with me forgetting to turn it off. They show my time as 23:54. I was 2nd in my division, 8th in women overall and 47th out of 455 overall.
A long run on my own.
I missed my friends today :(. Seems so much longer on my own. I wasn't supposed to go this far today. My training plan said to do an 11 miler this week, but last week called for a shorter run on Sat and we did 10. I was just supposed to flip flop those weeks and go shorter today since I have a 5K Sat and can't go long this Sat. So...the scream was unwarranted last Sat. when I saw the deer carcass. But my scream was warranted today when the homeless man popped out from under the bridge. I think I scared him too. One reason I went farther is that I was scared to go back, and I didn't have a choice. When I finally did go back, he wasn't there anymore. I felt bad that I forced him out of his shelter that was keeping him out of the wind and it made me so grateful for my home, but felt so sad for him.
Getting into Marathon training
Weather was just right considering it was supposed to snow today! Went with Laura and Anne...such great company! The run went really fast going with them. We saw a fox! Laura tried to take a pic, but it was too far away. It kept turning and looking at us and then running away. We also saw a nasty deer carcass. I about tripped on it and screamed! Then Laura and Anne screamed too! I wanted to keep going after our 10, but Laura said I shouldn't. Especially since it was supposed to be a taper week. She knows so much more than me, so I listened to her. I know this sounds crazy, but I can't wait to get into our 20 mile runs!
