New Year's Day 5K

Me and my trophy!

Cousins & sisters at the New Year's Day 5K! Me, Sheri, Wendy and Bridgette.

3.1 mi 00:25 07:58 pace

Had a great time doing this event with cousins. It was pretty cold (10 degrees), but at least it was double digits ;)! I finished 5th overall in the Women's 5K and 3rd in my division. I even got a trophy!

The Utah Human Race-Thanksgiving

Amy (Hayley's sister), Hayley, Sheri and I.

6.24 mi 00:51 08:10 pace

My watch said the mileage was 6.24. The extra .04 could have been weaving in and out of people. I placed 1st in my division. I have done 6.2 in 49 minutes several times so I was hoping for a faster pace. I guess the conditions of having to weave in and out of people, running on some icy spots and the cold made it hard. It was 7 degrees outside, but so worth getting out there! I didn't sleep well the night before because I was worried about the cold. There was a guy in front of me that had frost all over his hat. I wondered if he rolled in the snow before the race. When I got to the finish line I saw that everyone had frost on their heads. People's sweat had turned into frost, LOL! I had ice in my hair too!

Final run in Scottsdale, AZ!

8 mi 01:06 08:11 pace

I ran a total of 28 miles while we were in AZ. Now it's back to the snow and cold. Probably best that I'm not running on concrete anymore. Knees are feeling it a bit, but I didn't have a choice in AZ. I didn't sleep well the night before this run. I think I just really missed my kids. It's great to be back to them.

Another run in Scottsdale, AZ

10 mi 01:22 08:14 pace

I had to do another 10. I just couldn't let this amazing weather go to waste! The lights were a little nicer to me this time. I think it's because this was a Saturday and it wasn't as busy on the roads, so I didn't have to run back and forth at the corners waiting for the lights for as long. I tried to run as much as I could on the road, but most of it was on concrete (I know...so bad for you). It was a great run. I wasn't ready to go back, but I didn't want anyone waiting for me. I was hoping to do at least the same pace as my 10 miles on Thursday, but I beat it!

Scottsdale, AZ

10.01 mi 01:25 08:27 pace

I set out to do 5 miles, or so...but I just couldn't let this amazing weather go to waste. I know I won't get this weather again until spring when I get back home. I will run again tomorrow and Monday and then it's back home. The only thing I didn't love about this run is that our hotel is in a very commercial area, so it was really busy on the road. I had several huge intersections I had to cross which hurt my pace. While I was waiting for the light to change I kept running back and forth at the corners. I got lots of smiles from people. I'm pretty sure I looked like a dork!

Las Vegas Ragnar Relay 2010...the after party!

At the Red Rock Casino where the finish line was. Many of us got 2 medals for doing Wasatch Back as well as Vegas.

Las Vegas Ragnar Relay 2010 Leg 3

5.73 mi 00:42 07:21 pace

Loved this run! The only thing that made me a little nervous was running on the freeway. I thought I had a pretty fierce headwind, but after talking to my team, I realized it was the wind coming from the constant traffic I was running against. Best part of this leg is that it was my last for LV Ragnar 2010!
